“My lady, have you felt it? Destiny has been rewoven.”
The woman on the throne opened her eyes – first her left, then her right, then one in the center of her forehead. She exhaled and smiled.
“And so…fate is indeed upon this trajectory,” she said, punctuating it with a glance heavenwards. Her smile faded, her face falling slightly as she thought to herself.
“Are you alright, my lady?” asked one of the archons standing before her. “You seem…surprised.”
“No, not surprised,” said the three-eyed woman, standing to her feet, pristine white robes cascading around her as she did so. “I merely hoped that I was wrong.” She descended the steps in front of the throne, the two archons watching her as she processed towards the far door.
“But my lady…you are never wrong,” one said, their gaze following her as she walked.
Xera sighed.
“I know.”
